It has been a fairy tale season so far for Varsfontein as both the home bred and client bred horses raised on our paddocks prove that the Varsfontein recipe is a winning one! After all the proof is in the pudding and two Group 1 winners on one day is proof enough. Both Ash Cloud, winner of the SA Oaks, and Yorker, winner of the President’s Champions Challenge, are proudly Varsfontein products. Yorker has notched up his third Group 1 win of the season and his class looks set to prevail. Ash Cloud had big shoes to fill being a half sister to two Oaks winners in Arcola (by Caesour) and Princess Of Light (by Var). She certainly did fill them and has given her dam, Star Of Arcole, the unprecedented status of producing three Oaks winners.
