This week we received the shocking and heart wrenching report that Mister Cricket had died during a routine knee operation. The promising three-year old by Judpot was only in the beginning of a career which looked to be that of a potential champ. Victorious in his first three starts he looked a force to be reckoned with entering the triple crown. Although disappointing in the first leg, the Gr 2 Gauteng Guineas, he returned to top form by running a close second in the Classic last Saturday.
Our condolences to owners Mr & Mrs Jooste and trainer Alec Laird. His passing is a great loss to the sport, to Varsfontein and to Judpot.
