A winning recipe breeds success and Varsfontein Stud is very proud of our winning recipe when raising young thoroughbreds. During the past season the farm produced a total of 31 individual stakes horses, most bred by Varsfontein and some bred by our clients here on the farm. It is encouraging to see such a large number of Varsfontein graduates performing at the highest level, proving our bloodlines and husbandry techniques are of a high standard. Our only disappointment would have to be all the close calls in the big races. Varsfontein-breds finished in 2nd place in a total of 5 Grade 1 races and 6 Grade 2 races!
